Kitchen Scales

By Richard Romando Kitchen scales come handy for a number of cooking and preparing tasks in restaurants, homes, nutritional houses, and gyms. They are helpful and convenient tools for chefs, amateur cooks, and crafters alike. These scales are used to weigh food and calculating nutritional information for your diet. Today, digital kitchen scales with latest digital electronic technology are available. There is a wide range of kitchen scales available in the market. They come in different shapes, sizes, display, platform, capacity, precision, styles, and units of measurement. The three basic types of kitchen scales available in the market are spring scales, balance scales, and digital scales. They operate on different principles. Their maximum capacity ranges between two and twenty pounds. Mainly, a kitchen scale has a container that holds food, an internal device that weighs the material on the top, and a screen or display to inform you the final weight. It provides consistent results helping the user save money by eliminating waste. A kitchen scale is a fine investment for measuring weights of cheese, meat, and vegetables with greater accuracy. Lots of kitchen scales have the ability to weigh all the ingredients of a complete recipe one by one in a single container. For diet-conscious consumers, kitchen scales are an indispensable tool for precisely measuring quantities allowed per diet. People use kitchen scales to keep track of the components of their diet and determine how much sugar or carbohydrates are present in a certain portion of orange slices or pasta. Additionally, they can be used for general household and utility tasks such as weighing letters and packages to determine exact postage. A kitchen scale also lets crafters who enjoy making paper, soap, or candles to measure their materials such as glycerin, wax, and pulp. The durability of kitchen scales depends primarily on the material used for their construction. Most durable scale surfaces are made of stainless steel. It is advisable to go for a kitchen scale that has a big weighing platform to house large bowls. Scales provides detailed information on Scales, Body Fat Scales, Digital Scales, Baby Scales and more. Los Angeles Criminal Defense Lawyer DUI & DWI Attorney

By Todd Going Even though DUI is generally charged as a misdemeanor for a first offense, DUI cases are prosecuted with the same aggressive force as serious felonies in Los Angeles. Driving under the influence occurs when a person is operating a motor vehicle (or is in physical existence of a motor vehicle) while under the influence of alcohol, or controlled substance, to the extent that their mental facilities are impaired and/or their blood alcohol level is above the legal limit. In Los Angeles and Orange County, a first offense DUI will typically result in a license suspension, hefty fines, community service and a mandatory class at a state DMV approved program. Most of the time after someone gets arrested for a DUI in Los Angeles; they are forced to spend the night in jail, and occasionally are required to install a car ignition locking device into their vehicle. A Los Angeles DUI conviction will generally stay on the offenders permanent record for several years, resulting in higher insurance premiums and sometimes bad credit. A DWI in Los Angeles is very similar to a DUI. DWI stand for, driving while intoxicated and just like a DUI, it is unlawful for anyone who has a blood alcohol level of .08 percent or more, to drive a motor vehicle. To be convicted of a DWI in Los Angeles, the prosecution must prove that the defendant was driving or possessed actual physical control of the vehicle while intoxicated by drugs or alcohol. They must also prove that the arresting officer had legal , reasonable suspicion for stopping the vehicle in the first place. If you have been convicted of a DUI in Los Angeles, it is very important that you contact an experienced Los Angeles DUI lawyer immediately. An experienced Los Angeles criminal defense attorney can help identify important pretrial issues and dramatically improve your chances during the case. Riding Lawnmower – Choices are Wide Open

By Magne Bjorklund You have a big lawn, the grass is always growing, and now it is time to consider getting a riding lawn mower. The choices in riding lawn mowers are more vast than you might have previously thought. A riding lawn mower is one that you are going to actually sit on, drive and mow the grass at the same time. If you only have a small area, one that is flat and not more than a few acres you may be able to purchase a cheap lawnmower that is going to last years under these conditions. If you have five or more acres to mow, and the grass is always growing way high, you most likely are going to require at least a mid line lawn mower, one that will cost about $1,500 to do the job. You want to have a deck that is 44 to 52 wide to get the job done fast all the time. Remember the smaller the deck, the more you are going to have to cut, the bigger the deck, the fewer passes you have to make on going over that lawn. If you have a lawn that is more than five acres, and you have rolling hills on your lawn you may want to invest a little more in the riding lawnmower of your choice. A riding lawnmower that is about 48 to 52 or more is going to best suit your needs, as it will be one of the largest. You have the options of having it turn in 180 degrees or you can have the regular type of lawn mower that will require steering in straight lines. A large type of lawn mower is going to have different wheels. The lawnmower with just small wheels on the front and on the rear if for a flat area, without hills. The lawnmower with small wheels in the front and larger wheels in the back is for an area that has hills, so you can climb those hills easier. Dont forget if you are mowing more than five or six acres all the time during the summer, you are going to want to purchase a lawnmower with a larger motor so it will be able to haul, tote and pull things as well. Gardening and landscaping over large areas will be nice, when you can pull a wagon with your lawnmower as well. You will find many lawnmowers will actually come with some type of wagon, free, during special promotion times. You can also purchase wagons for any lawnmower at the same place where you are considering purchasing the lawnmower of your choice. Will Your Cell Phone Work in an Emergency?

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Sandra_Landwehr]Sandra Landwehr If you’re one of the millions of cell phone users who count on their wireless phone for emergency 911 calling, You might want to think again…….. Unfortunately, there’s no guarantee that your wireless 911 call will be routed to an emergency call center. Much less, that the emergency dispatcher will have the ability to pinpoint your call’s location. Why? Part of the problem is lack of service. Often, in more rural areas, your cell phone has fewer towers available to receive reception. And, many of those towers are designed for analog calls – not digital. But, since the FCC does not require it, fewer carriers offer analog service — or the ability to connect to it. Not surprising, since much of the carriers’ revenue is dependant on features available only on digital networks. Another problem? There is no uniform Ehanced 911 system (E911) for wireless carriers. The fault lies mainly with the FCC, who has once again neglected to force all carriers to conform their systems to a single technology. Because of this, there are now two very incompatable E911 systems in the works. Nextel, Sprint and Verizon each have cell phones that use the Global Positioning System (GPS) to find a caller’s location. While Cingular/AT&T and T-Mobile rely on a triangulation system. Unfortunately, both E911 systems have their flaws. The GPS system needs a minimum of three satalites to be able to “read” the handset’s location. Accuracy can be hampered by heavy vegetation, mountains or tall buildings. The triangulation system also has its shortcomings. The system relies on the strength and timing of cell towers to determine a location. It too, requires multiple towers for accuracy. This becomes more difficult in rural areas where towers are scarce. To compound the problem, Emergency Call Centers are not equipt with the technology needed to field E911 calls. Most smaller centers lack the funding for the sophisticated equiptment, while others lack the knowledge on how to integrate E911 into their existing system. According to a 2004 article in the San Diego Union Tribune, only about 12% of the country’s 911 centers had the ability to pinpoint the location of wireless phone users emergency calls. Which cell phone is best? Dual band, or tri-band phones, allow both analog and digital frequencies. If a 911 call does not connect in a digital mode, the alternate analog network is available. The FCC mandates that any carrier offering multi-frequency phones, must allow the 911 call to roam to another service if the call can not be completed on their own network. Currently, only Cingular/AT&T and Verizon offer dual or tri-bands for both their service and handsets. Sprint PCS and T-Mobile wireless phones rely on a digital band, but provide an option to roam for an analog signal. Nextel uses the iDEN network for their cell phones. Because Nextel is the only major carrier using this technology, 911 calls may be difficult to “hand off” to other carriers when roaming and may be dropped. Cell Phones Accessories – Second To Barbie

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Martin_Smith]Martin Smith You can dress up an outfit or dress it up with accessories such as a coat, a purse, or shoes. Accessories for something can add to its performance such as a cell phone. Cell phones accessories are second to Barbie with the many accessories they have. Some accessories serve practical purposes, others are ornamental, and still others are just available. There are practical accessories in the world of cell phones that aid in safe operation of the phone and help you to carry it safely. Downloadable ring tones are there for you as an accessory. Putting accessories into categories makes them easier to describe. Included in operational accessories are battery chargers. You must remember that these chargers are generally phone and model specific so they are not interchangeable. You can get hands free kits that easily install in your vehicle. You can keep both hands on the wheel while talking on the phone. Antenna boosters help to strengthen the signal between a cell tower and your phone. In places where cellular phone signals are weak these are especially good. Manufacturer and model specific batteries are available for your cell phone. When your battery gets low there is an attachment that will give your battery a boost until you can get it charged again. There are speaker phone kits. These attachments let you talk on the phone and keep your hands on the wheel rather than hold your phone in one hand and driving with the other. Dashboard mountable holders can be placed within arms reach. There are different styles of cases and holders available. The eyeglass case resembles a horizontal case for your cell. Vertical cases and pocket eyeglass cases are very much alike. You can wear cell phone holsters across your shoulder like a policeman or on your belt. The wrist, arm, or thigh is where multi-use cases can be worn. These types of cases will hold your cell, your license, and a few bucks. These cases are most often fastened with Velcro(tm). There are technical accessories available for your cell phone. Downloadable games which are internal accessories, helps you to pass the time while waiting and ring tones make your phone unique. These rings can be The William Tell Overture, holiday songs, or the traditional ring. Cell phones are no longer simple phones, they are little computers with internet connections, organizers, calendars, note recorders, and to do lists. Number directories, recording of the numbers and identity of callers, and recording missed calls so return calls can later be mad are also cell phone functions. Signals are increased by antenna boosters and radiation exposure is reduced by radiation shields. Covers and face plates are other available cell phone accessories. There are phone covers for both the front and the back. Face plates with designs like animal prints and patriotic designs go over the front of the phone and the keypad. Among the cutest cell phone accessories are the plush animal covers. Theyre functional and cute, the phone goes in the back of the animal. The phone is cushioned by the animals body if its ever dropped. Cell phones and cell phone accessories can vary in price. Some accessories might just be fun while most are optional. Cell phone accessories are not always interchangeable. Look into cell phones and learn about the operation of your cell. The Sabbath

By David Ben-Ariel Did you ever stop to think why Christians keep Sunday? Did they get it from the Bible? Is there a clear-cut command that says, “Thou shalt keep Sunday?” Why did Jesus worship on Saturday? Was it only because He was a good Jew? Or does it go beyond that? Does it make any difference which day we observe, as long as we keep one day in seven? What does the Bible actually say? “And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day….Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all the work He had created and made” (Gen. 2:2- 3). Which day is the Christian Sabbath? Go grab a calendar. See which day is the seventh day and then you’ll know the biblical Sabbath. And remember, GOD GAVE MANKIND the gift of the Sabbath from creation. Adam and Eve weren’t Jewish! And yet God expected them to remember the seventh day Sabbath as a memorial of creation. When we assemble on our God-given Sabbath, we know we’re worshipping the King of Creation. Any other “sabbath” is simply man-made. The Great Creator God only blessed the seventh day with His Presence, and therefore set it apart as special. We shouldn’t accept any cheap imitations or substitutes, whether it’s the Muslim Friday or traditional Sunday. Since mankind lost or neglected the truth about God’s Sabbath, the Creator chose to reveal it again when He was in the process of making Israel into His Servant-Nation. God instructed them, in order that they could teach others: “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work…. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it” (Ex. 20:8-11). Notice: God claims the Sabbath as His. He doesn’t refer to it as the “Jewish Sabbath.” Though it became known as that to distinguish it from the various pagan days of worship (Ga. 4:10). “The Lord’s day” was meant for all mankind to enjoy and appreciate (Matt. 12:8; Isa. 56:6). And the early Church, composed of both Jews and Gentiles, did celebrate the proper Sabbath together for over THREE HUNDRED YEARS! That’s longer than the U.S. has known independence. When God restored the Sabbath to Israel, it was the same seventh day Sabbath instituted at Creation. It wasn’t changed to a different day. And its purpose remained the same: to reveal the CREATOR and commemorate His majestic works of art. Jesus honored His Father by keeping God’s commandments. The fourth commandment is to remember the Sabbath day. Christ didn’t forget the importance of attending Sabbath services (Luke 4:16) – NEVER ON A SUNDAY- and the apostle Paul encourages us to avoid the habit of skipping Church services (Heb. 10:25). After all, it is a commanded assembly (Lev. 23:3) that offers us a chance to better understand the Scriptures (Acts 19:8). Why miss out? As well as reminding us of God’s awesome ability, the Sabbath is a memorial of Israel’s deliverance from Egypt (Deut. 5:15). It also foreshadows our future redemption from European tyranny and portrays our ongoing deliverance from sin (Isa. 14:3; Ga. 5:1). The plagues God sent against Egypt identified Him as the Creator God: the One who could control the forces of nature and intervene in the affairs of nations. When God pours out the seven last plagues on Europe’s Babylonish system, bringing it to its knees, it’ll reveal Him alone as the Most High God and Holy Father (Dan. 2:44; Rev. 14:7). The Sabbath day, a memorial of creation and Israel’s liberation, reminds us relief from sin is coming. We’ll finally be able to rest from temptation and enjoy righteousness (II Pet. 3:13). When we’re truly born again we’ll be free from sin; it’ll be a thing of the past (I Jn. 3:9). This serenity awaits us in the Promised Land of God’s Kingdom (Heb. 4:1- 11). God is reproducing Himself – Christ in us – and will add the “finishing touch” at our resurrection (Rom. 8:21-23). We are God-Beings in the making! Jesus cut through all the red tape of entangling human traditions, and kept the Sabbath day as God intended (Mark 7:7). Yet it was prophesied that some would tamper with how and when we’re to observe God’s Sabbath day, and forcibly attempt to replace it with their own (Dan. 7:25; Rev. 17:5). This Sabbath question is destined to become a bloody issue again (Rev. 13:17; 14:13). But for those who really want to know the truth, God’s entrusted the Jews to keep the knowledge of the true Sabbath day (Rom. 9:4). And the Jews don’t worship on Sunday! They follow the biblical practice of celebrating the Sabbath: from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. God even pronounces a blessing on everyone who’s properly keeping the Sabbath just before Christ’s return, despite political pressure to do otherwise (Isa. 56:1-2). Why not take time out to get to know God? Although He enjoys our contact daily, God’s set aside every seventh day as a special opportunity to learn more about Him and life. Don’t settle for counterfeits or attempt to adopt days copied from others (Deut. 12:30). God’s reserved the Sabbath day for His People. It was a regular part of Jesus’ life and the early Church’s custom. In fact, all the righteous priests and prophets, patriarchs and kings, throughout biblical history, have kept God’s holy Sabbath. Why not follow their example? Don’t forget! David Ben-Ariel is a Christian-Zionist writer in Ohio and author of Beyond Babylon: Europe’s Rise and Fall. With a focus on the Middle East and Jerusalem, his analytical articles help others improve their understanding of that troubled region. Check out Beyond Babylon. You need to be good on notebook PCs, have a good comfort level with PDAs and various kinds of printers, and be familiar with modems, dial-up, cable, DSL and power protection. The Importance of a Strong Software Background From a software standpoint, you want to be successful in this one to ten space as part of your business. Again, a strong software background should be a part of your small business IT consulting practice; it should not be the main focus of your business. Be Familiar with Operating Systems In terms of a software perspective, in small business IT consulting, you should be really comfortable with desktop and notebook operating systems, mainly Microsoft Windows. However, depending on the industry and your specialty, the small business could be utilizing Mac or Linux operating systems. A small business IT consulting professional should be really comfortable with things like Microsoft Office, Quick Books, ACT and Goldmine. Security and Networking Abilities As a small business IT consulting professional, you should be really comfortable with anti-virus software as well as personal firewalls and remote control software. From a networking standpoint, a micro-small business will require a small business IT consulting professional to be familiar with peer to peer lands. The Benefits Of Using Artificial Grass

By Lee Dobbins For some residents in a neighborhood in Tampa Florida, the streets are very well kept and the trees are nature’s pride: big trees of oak. However, all these prettiness changed when one resident decided that enough is enough, he ripped his yard up and installed artificial grass. Though there are those who think that having a synthetic artificial lawn grass is pathetic, there are those who think otherwise. Believe it or not, this coming summer will be witness to a lot more people from the suburban areas that are to install yards upon yards of artificial grass. This is lawn faux grass that is somehow very lifelike and real that people could be fooled to think they are what they appear to be, and pets actually think it is real. The fact of the matter is that spending on artificial grass is supposed to rise by a quarter this coming year at businesses as well as homes. This basically translates to a revenue of two hundred and fifty million more. Compare this to a real lawn grass that need to be maintained, trimmed, sprinkled, etc. and an artificial grass that solely needs to be blow dried. Why artificial grass? Though this prospect is tempting for some, it is unthinkable for a lot of other people. There are still those suburban residents that find artificial grass tacky and surreal. Some residents still find a reason to complain on artificial grass. For them, artificial grass looks just too lushly fake in the cold, cold dead winter. This has even prompted some neighborhoods to ban the use of artificial grass altogether. For the research director of the National Association of Gardening, having artificial grass is like having a toupee on your lawn. But there are still positive perks from having artificial grass. For one, the artificial grass industry thinks that there are advantages of faux lawn grass. One benefit is the decrease in the care of one’s lawn. Thereby saving anyone and everyone money and energy. Artificial grass is also one way to decrease the use of fertilizers. It also helps neighborhood and households comply with the restrictions with regards to the use of water especially in areas that experience a lot of drought. Take for example an area in New Mexico, particularly Albuquerque which actually offer five hundred dollars to those residents who have a part of their lawn converted to landscape and which need less water. Same laws are also enforced in Arizona at Mesa as well as in Las Vegas. Simply put, for those who really want to see lush green grass, the use of artificial grass is a good alternative. For those homeowners who prefer the artificial grass, the reasons are simple. One artificial grass user has found it helpful that his son no longer drags mud inside their house. Though the fact of the matter is that he also had to pad some areas of the lawn in order for the child not to hurt himself it cost three hundred dollars. Another benefit is that artificial grass bring no bugs. Also, artificial grass like real lawn grass comes in varieties. There are those who are garden lush variety artificial grass that has a recently-been-mowed look. This type of grass costs an average of thirty thousand dollars. The plus is that it simply needs to be airblowered once after quite a long while. How did fake grass become so hip? It all started in the 1970′s when football teams as well as baseball teams decided to install artificial grass in stadiums all over the country. Though fans claimed it as an ugly alternative, as well as dangerous and totally unnatural, it was actually a low maintenance and low cost landscaping phenomenon. Until there were athletes that tore their ligaments and broke their bones due to the artificial grass. All in all, the use of artificial grass depends much on a person’s preference, style, need and budget. What one could see as ugly could be beauty to another person’s perspective. The important thing is that all the benefits and disadvantages are properly weighed by the potential user of the artificial grass and from there decide which is best as according to his long term likes and dislikes. Fly Fishing For Trout

By Wayne Smith Fly Fishing is such a traditional sport many refer to as an art form, and compared to other modes of fishing, incorporates so much to learn in terms of casting technique, and more particularly the study of the trout’s diet, and their imitations, that it can distract anglers from focussing sufficiently on their quarry’s habits and behaviour. If you want to catch more Trout, and particularly larger Trout, you need to know more about the Trout than you do about casting and their diet. The deeper I looked, the more things just didn’t make sense. I reared both Brown and Rainbow Trout in my lounge room aquarium and studied them closely. From atop steep banks of clear pools on the stream, I experimented and studied them. There was finally but one conclusion I could make. We, as fly fishermen, to a large degree, have been kidding ourselves for a very long time. Looking realistically at many of the trout flies, it seemed that the trout must either be half blind, or quite stupid, to accept many of them as the insects being imitated. Either way, it detracted from the achievement of having deceived them. The more I critically analyzed the whole routine of fly fishing, the more assumptions I recognised as having been made to compensate for our lack of understanding. At best, some of the assumptions may have been correct to some degree, but could never be proven or confirmed. At worst, some were just blatantly wrong. These assumptions have been cycled for so long they have just been accepted as fact. The Trout have been considered ‘Unpredictable’ because their behaviour or actions didn’t always fit what we would have expected when fly fishing. No-one, it seems, had ever thought about the possibility of their actions not matching our expectations because our beliefs could be flawed. I started evaluating alternative possibilities. Gradually I put the puzzle together. Eventually, those long standing questions had answers. The trout behaviour then became extremely predictable. I started taking advantage of these findings. Having realized I didn’t need to imitate anything to induce takes, I was able to construct flies which could do specific jobs for me rather than imitating anything. With each of the situations I encountered on the water mastered, the results just automatically followed. I had seemingly mastered the sport of fly fishing.
